Defence Banking Advisor, Bank of Baroda & officials from NHPC Limited call on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, August 22, 2023: Defense Banking Advisor, Bank of Baroda, J&K and Ladakh, Brigadier Narendra Kumar Khajuria (Retd) along with Manager, Bank of Baroda, Leh Branch, Shri Sunny Anand called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas.
Brig Khajuria apprised the HLG that he has joined as Defence Banking Advisor, Bank of Baroda to aware the serving and retired defence personnel regarding the Military Salary Package being offered by the Bank of Baroda. He informed the HLG that Bank of Baroda is providing Military Salary Package for Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Airforce, ex-servicemen and Agniveers.
He further informed that the bank has appointed Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh Salaria PVSM, VSM (Retd) as the Chief Defence Banking Advisor of the Bank at Delhi and appointed 14 Brigadiers as Defence Banking Advisor for various states to cover the Defence establishment across the country. He also informed that there are 13 branches of the bank in J&K and Ladakh region, including ten in Jammu, two in Srinagar and one Digital Branch in Leh, Ladakh.
The HLG commended the bank for introducing the Military Salary Package aimed at benefiting military personnel and suggested Brig Khajuria to meet and discuss the package of the bank with the ex-servicemen of the region at the veterans rally at Rinchen Auditorium, Leh.
A delegation from NHPC Limited comprising Group General Manager (GGM), Nimoo-Basgo and Chutak Power Station (NBCPS), Shri Bikram Singh and Head of Project, NHPC Leh/Kargil, Shri Jitender Kumar called on the HLG at Raj Niwas. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar was present in the meeting.
The delegates apprised the HLG of the Nimoo-Basgo hydroelectric plant at Leh and Chutuk hydroelectric plant at Kargil being implemented by NHPC Ltd in Ladakh. They also informed about employment provided by them to the locals at its hydroelectric plants. The delegates also informed the HLG that they are ready to fund any project in Ladakh for the benefit of its citizens through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
The HLG commended NHPC Limited for their work for the benefit of the people of Ladakh. He asked Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, to coordinate with NHPC for CSR funding potential projects which are beneficial for the people of Ladakh.
