Leh, June 28, 2024: A delegation comprising physical education masters led by Shri Aga Syed Yasin called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS and Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Shri Moses Kunzang, JKAS, were present in the meeting.
Shri Aga Syed informed the HLG that they were promoted to the post of physical education master in 2009 and are now waiting for the promotion to the post of Zonal Physical Education Officer. He also informed about the delay in their promotion due to the clarification from UPSC for the gazetted posts for Youth Services and Sports Department. He requested the HLG to follow the existing rules for gazetted posts issued by the Jammu and Kashmir government.
Shri Moses informed that the recruitment rules for the gazetted posts for Youth Services and Sports Department was notified on June 27 according to which physical education masters can either be promoted to the post of physical education lecturers or Zonal Physical Education Officer and thereafter to the post of District Youth Services and Sports Officer. He also informed that the top-level posts would be filled first to make way for the promotion of other officials.
The HLG stated that the avenue is now open for them with the notification issued by UPSC. He said that officials who met the criteria mentioned in the recruitment rules would be promoted to gazetted posts.
