    Delegations from District Hospital Kargil and Health Department Kargil call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

    Leh, March 6, 2025: Delegations from District Hospital Kargil and the Health Department Kargil call on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lt Governor’s Secretariat to discuss issues faced by their respective groups.
    A delegation of Laboratory Assistants who were engaged during the 2020-21 COVID-19 period under the National Health Mission (NHM) conveyed their concerns to the HLG. They highlighted their transition from NHM to outsourced positions and requested that their services be reinstated under NHM. Furthermore, they appealed for an extension of their service, which is set to expire at the end of March 2025.
    After consulting with the Commissioner/Secretary of Health, Dr Vasanthakumar, IAS, the HLG assured the delegation that preference would be given to them in the renewed contract for service extension. Regarding their reinstatement under NHM, the HLG clarified that the decision lies with the Ministry and assured that a committee will examine their case comprehensively.
    In another meeting, a delegation of drivers from the Health Department Kargil, who have been serving for over 16 years on a consolidated pay of ₹3,000 per month, also called on the HLG. They requested an enhancement of their salaries in recognition of their long-standing service and dedication.
    The HLG acknowledged their contributions and informed the delegation that a committee would examine their issues and consider appropriate measures to address their concerns.
