Delegations from Reincartion Service Committee HE Ladakh Chos-rje Togdan Rinpoche, Chairperson BDC Durbuk call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

Leh, Dec 30, 2023: A delegation comprising members of Reincarnation Service Committee HE Ladakh Chos-rje Togdan Rinpoche led by Chakzot of Phyang Monastery, Ven. Konchok Zanpo, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at LG Secretariat.
Ven Konchok highlighted the contributions of the late HE Ladakh Chos-rje Togdan Rinpoche to the Ladakhi society and his stature as a prominent religious figure of Ladakh. He requested the HLG to dedicate and name the Open Stadium at Spituk on HE Togdan Rinpoche.
The HLG stated that names recommended would be put in the public domain to seek suggestions/feedback from the public. He further stated that the name of the stadium would be announced at the time of the inauguration of the stadium post-completion of the construction work.
Chairman, Block Development Council, Durbuk, Shri Konchok Phunchok raised several demands, viz. early connectivity of the Northern Grid from Leh to Durbuk block; sanction homestay in various households in Durbuk block; installation of 4G mobile towers in Kargyam, Phulak, Shachukul, Phobrang, Shayok and Maan-Merak; creation of new halqa panchayats for Phulak and Durbuk B; road connectivity from Chhibra Kargyam to Tukla-Liktsey; creation of Information Office in Durbuk block; construction of conference hall for Block Headquarter Durbuk at Tangtse; sanction Medical Sub-Centre at Pun-Pun and Chibra; open J&K Bank branch at Phobrang; appointment of DG set operator to operate DG set at Tangtse; carry out recruitment drive for Army porters in Durbuk block instead of Kharu block, etc.
The HLG stated that efforts are being made by the UT Administration to improve basic facilities such as roads, telecommunication connectivity, health facilities, etc in all blocks of Ladakh. He assured to look into the matter. He also asked the delegates to meet and talk to the Chairman of LAHDC Leh and Army officials regarding the outsourcing of DG set operator and conducting recruitment drive for Army porters, respectively.
