    Department of Geography and Geology students, EJM College undertook a Geographical and Geological tour to Aryan Valley.
    Leh, Sept 25,2024: Students of Department of Geography and Geology, EJM College undertook a Geographical and Geological tour to Aryan Valley, focusing on the socio-economic and tourism prospects in the valley and various geological features along the way to Aryan valley.
    The students of Geography conducted a socio-economic survey using questionnaires to gather relevant data from the region. The 3 day tour was led by Assistant Professor (Geography) Dr. Nasrin Tabassum.
    During the visit, students had the opportunity to engage with local community, learning about the unique customs and lifestyle of the Aryan people of Ladakh. The locals’ warm hospitality and distinctive attire, including flowered caps, reflected the rich cultural heritage of the region.
    Geology students under the guidance of Assistant Professor (Geology) Dr. Roohi Irshad, and Assistant Professor (Geology) Ms. Shabnam Shaheen, explored geological features as a part of their field study. Students were shown various geological features, including glacial moraines, folds, volcanic dykes, unconformity and the Ladakh Batholith.
    The trip provided students with a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience, combining geological exploration with socio-economic studies, and offering valuable insights into the unique geological, environmental and cultural aspects of Ladakh.
