Department of Social and Tribal Welfare organizes training on prevention of sexual harassment at workplace.
Kargil, Sept 27, 2024: The Department of Social and Tribal Welfare today organized a training session at Conference Hall of Social Welfare Department, Council Secretariat Kargil on the prevention of sexual harassment of women in the workplace.
The event was aimed to raise awareness about workplace safety for women and educate participants on mechanisms available for addressing complaints.
Chief Engineer, I&FC, Maqbool Hussain; Joint Director Information, UT Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho; District Programme Officer, ICDS, Nargis Banoo; Chief Medical Officer, Kargil, Dr. Kacho Liyaqat; Chief Education Officer, Kargil, SD Namgyal; Executive Engineer, I&FC, ARTO Kargil, Khadim Hussain; Naib Tehsildar, Ghulam Rasool; Chief Inspector FCS&CA, Anayatullah, and representatives from other departments attended the training session.
Deachen Angmo, Gender Specialist from Mission Shakti, delivered an informative presentation during the event, explaining various aspects of sexual harassment in the workplace, the process for filing complaints, and the timeline for addressing grievances.
A lively discussion followed, with question-and-answer session related to the procedures and policies related to sexual harassment prevention also held.
The session highlighted the importance of a safe and respectful work environment for all employees, ensuring adherence to legal frameworks and creating awareness about women’s rights in professional settings.
