Director School Education proposes posting of recently promoted Principals/HoDs/DyCEO to Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

Leh, March 3, 2025: The Director of School Education, Tsering Paldan (JKAS), presented a detailed presentation on the proposal for the posting of recently promoted Principals, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and Deputy Chief Education Officers (Dy CEO) of School Education Department to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lt Governor’s Secretariat.
During the presentation, Director of School Education, Tsering Paldan, JKAS, highlighted the introduction of a unique point system which takes into account the last three postings of each candidate and the points given to the employees based on the distance from the district headquarters, ensuring a transparent and equitable process for considering their cases. The main objective of this new system is to effectively address and fill the vacancies in headless schools. Currently, there are ten such schools in need of principals.
Stating that education policies should be student-centric and expressing his support for the initiative, the HLG emphasised the importance of prioritising the transfer of principals to schools with an adequate number of students over DIET Kargil. He asked Director School Education to expedite the cases of those in line for promotion at the earliest so that the vacant posts of Principals at DIET Kargil and GHSS Choskore and Phey could be filled soon.
Principal Secretary Shri. Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr. L Franklin, IAS; Secretary GAD, Michael D’Souza, IAS and Director School Education, Shri Tsering Paldan, JKAS were present during the meeting.
