Director Sheep Husbandry Ladakh Dr Iftikhar Hussain begins three-day tour to Kargil District.
Kargil, October, 26, 2024: Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, Dr Iftikhar Hussain, is on a three-day tour to Kargil and today chaired a review meeting with District Sheep Husbandry Officer and other Officers of District at SHD Conference Hall Baroo regarding action taken report for the earlier visit of Director to various blocks of Kargil & Zanskar recently.
The objective was to evaluate the implementation of instructions given in prior visits and assess the current status of all new and ongoing schemes in the district. The director reviewed action taken report block wise as per the tour note of earlier visit to Kargil and Zanskar.
The Director assessed the current progress on various ongoing and new schemes of District, State Capex and SDP aimed at improving infrastructure in farms and field units. The Director meticulously examined the progress of the ongoing schemes.
Discussions were held regarding the winter contingency plan and he took a detailed review of the position of supplies of medicines and other essential supplies to the district especially in Zanskar subdivision.
The chair was informed about that recent approval of projects under IWDP scheme of MoT GoI regarding Sheep shows, setting up of a Fleece Testing laboratory, Formation of wool societies and Training Programme on Knitting, Spinning and design making for rural artisans and also training on machine sheep shearing.
The Director reiterated the department’s commitment to the welfare & revival of the sheep rearing community and dedication of officers/officials for the departmental work.
