DLSA organises legal awareness camp on legal assistance during an arrest

Leh, October 23: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh, organised a legal awareness
camp today on Legal Assistance at Pre-Arrest, Arrest and Remand stage. The awareness camp was organised at District Police Line (DPL), Choglamsar.
Secretary, DLSA Leh, Phuntsog Angmo; Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP), Leh, Nawang Nurboo and Senior Advocate, Gonbo Stobgyal were present as resource persons. They apprised the participants regarding various provisions for arrest, pre-arrest and remand stage and also briefed them about the provision related to legal assistance at those stages.
Later, a question-and-answer session with the participants and resource persons was held.
The legal awareness camp was attended by Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Armed Reserve, Leh; Station House Officers; In-charge Police Post; Sub Inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors posted in Leh. Police officers and officials posted outside Leh virtually participated in the programme. Several para-legal volunteers (PLVs) also attended the programme.
