He apprised HLG of the BSNL 4G towers being installed in areas where Jio 4G towers are already available and emphasised the need to prioritise and install towers in remote areas of Ladakh without any telecommunications connectivity.
Shri Morup Dorje informed HLG that the optical fibre cable (OFC) laid by BSNL from Khaltse to Batalik is defunct and requested the replacement of the OFC cables for better telecommunications connectivity.
Shri Tashi Namgyal Yakzee also apprised HLG of the attachment of teachers posted at Government schools in different villages of Changthang to other departments/schools due to which the studies of students are affected. He requested HLG’s intervention in this regard.
HLG instructed Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, to hold a meeting with officials from BSNL and also call the contractors to take part in the meeting to inquire about the issue raised by Shri Yakzee and Shri Morup. He also assured to look into the other issues.
A delegation comprising officials of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) led by ADG CPWD Jammu, Shri RK Dhiman and Chief Engineer, Pradeep Gupta, called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
