    EC Zakir, EC Feroz, DC Shrikant inaugurate new school building of GMS Chutak.
    Kargil, October 17, 2024: Executive Councilor, Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain along with Executive Councilor, Revenue, Kacho Mohammad Feroz and Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Srikant Balsaheb Suse today inaugurated new school building of Government Middle School Chutak.
    Councilor Choskore, Nasir Hussain Mushi; Executive Engineer I&FC; Chief Education Officer, Kargil; Principal; General Manager NHPC, Village Committee Members, parents and students were present during the inauguration.
    Speaking on the occasion, EC Education Zakir Husain congratulated the students, parents, and village committee members on the inauguration of the new middle school building. He highlighted that the modern, well-equipped infrastructure of the government school will help increase student enrolment in government schools.
    The EC said that the active participation of village committee members and parents plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of government schools.
    EC Zakir said various government schools in Shakar-Chiktan area were on the verge of closure. However, despite the challenges, the active participation of parents and village committee members has played a crucial role in keeping these functioning well today.
    He stated that LAHDC Kargil is working in mission mode to revolutionize the education system in Kargil and in this regard several significant steps have been already taken.
    DC Kargil Srikant Balasaheb Suse appreciated the efforts of the concerned department for executing the construction works of the school building professionally. He also congratulated the local inhabitants, parents and students.
    DC Kargil announced Rs 5 lakh for the purchase of necessary equipment for the school. He also directed the concerned engineer to prepare a cost estimate for the panelling of the hall.
    Councilor Choskore, Nasir Hussain Mushi, said that the total cost of the school building was around Rs 3.53 crore, of which Rs 3.04 crore has already been spent on construction. He requested DC Kargil to release an additional Rs 51 lakh to clear liabilities and complete other miscellaneous works.
    Meanwhile, the inaugural program ended with the colorful cultural performances presented by the school children.
