EC Zakir Hussain inspects Kargil Boys Hostel Bemina, Kargil Girls Hostel Nowshara.

Kargil, Oct 30, 2023: Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain on Sunday inspected Kargil Boys Hostel Bemina, Srinagar and Kargil Girls Hostel Nowshara, Srinagar along with Chief Education Officer, Kargil and the staff of R&B Procurement Sub Division.
During the inspection he interacted with the students residing in the hostels and discussed many important issues faced by the students.
Regarding Kargil Boys Hostel Bemina Srinagar the students the EC came to know about issues like shortage of kitchen and other furnishing items as the previous kitchen items are reportedly auctioned.
During the inspection, providing of study chairs and tables with hot and cold AC’s for library also came to fore.
The EC also took assessment of temporary restoration of kitchen drainage system which needs to be rectified by way of construction of soakage pit and permanent restoration by installation of suction pump besides civil repair/renovation work of the structure.
The EC also said providing of additional manpower for smooth functioning of the hostel is needed.
He also visited Kargil Girls Hostel Nowshara, Srinagar where he also took assessment of some issue like providing of gatekeeper cum watch and ward guard (24×7), CCTV Surveillance facility, shortage of kitchen and other furnishing items as the previous kitchen items are reportedly auctioned, hot and cold AC’s for Library, providing of additional manpower for smooth functioning of the hostel, repair/renovation of the existing structure and uninterrupted electricity power backup.
