GDC Drass installs sanitary pad vending machine, holds awareness program on menstrual hygiene.

Kargil, June 22, 2023: To promote safe and hygienic-sanitary practices among girl students, Govt. Degree College, Drass today installed a sanitary pad vending machine and organized an awareness program for girl students regarding menstrual hygiene.
Member of the College Development Committee, Shabir Hussain unveiled and installed the sanitary pad vending machine in the girls’ common room on the directions of Principal GDC Drass, Dr Amjad Ali Abassi.
During the awareness program for girl students regarding menstrual hygiene, Convener, Gender Sensitisation Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH), Kaniz Fatima, presented a brief lecture on menstrual cycle and related issues.
She apprised girl students about facilities available in girl students’ common room and assured that the college administration is committed to serve students, especially girls.
Assistant Professor, Dr Azam Tahoor and Assistant Professor, Mohd Ali Mala also spoke on menstrual hygiene and encouraged students to maintain health and hygienic.
In the end, Kaneez Fatima presented vote of thanks to all participants and faculty, especially Dr Amjad Ali Abassi for the novel initiative for the overall development of the college.
