Kargil, April 24, 2025: Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil today held a solemn condolence meeting in its Seminar Hall to honour the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
Principal Disket Angmo, faculty, staff, and students gathered to express solidarity with the departed souls and their families.
On behalf of the college, Staff Secretary, Syed Mustafa Kamal condemned the barbaric act of terror and expressed the institution’s commitment to condemn such inhuman acts wherever they happen in the world.
He also paid condolences to the nation and families of the martyred tourists. A two-minute silence was also observed in solidarity with those who lost their precious lives in the attack.
On Wednesday evening, students and staff of the GDC Kargil Girls’ Hostel held a solemn candlelight march on campus, carrying placards that condemned the heinous attack and paid heartfelt tribute to its innocent victims.
The event began with a silent prayer, followed by a candle march across the college premises, symbolizing hope, unity, and the collective stand against terrorism.
The staff and students emphasized the importance of peace and harmony and extended their deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Such events not only reflect the empathy and awareness of the youth but also reaffirm the community’s resilience in the face of tragedy.
