GDC Nubra organises webinar on International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples

Leh, Aug 10: Department of Sociology, Government Degree College (GDC), Nubra, organised a webinar on the International Day of World’s Indigenous People on 9th August 2021 as a part of the ongoing sustainable cleanliness drive called Swachh Ladakh Swasth Ladakh. The theme for the webinar was History, Ethnic, Festival and Culture of Dard-Aryan of Ladakh. The event aimed to raise awareness about the unique culture, tradition, language, knowledge system and the needs of the indigenous people of Ladakh.
Tsewang Gyaltsan, Assistant Professor, GDC Zanskar, was the resource person for the webinar and shared his insights on the said theme.
Assistant Professor, Sociology Department, GDC Nubra, Dr Stanzin Namgyal, who is the Convenor of Webinar Organising Committee, started the online session with the opening remarks. Principal, GDC Nubra, Dr Tsewang Motup, gave the welcome speech .
A total of 25 participants attended the webinar that ended with a round of discussion among participants.
