    Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra attends ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ event in Kargil.

    Kargil, Dec 12: Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra on Monday attended the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ event in Kargil at Auditorium Hall Kargil organized by University of Ladakh.
    The event featured the virtual address by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. It was followed by the address of Hon’ble LG, UT Ladakh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), at the Auditorium Hall.
    The event was attended by Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Executive Councilor, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi, Vice Chancellor Ladakh University, Prof. S.K. Mehta, Secretary to HLG, Ravinder Kumar, DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, Superintendent of Police Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhary, Chairman Haj Committee Ladakh Mohd Ali Majaz, Director Horticulture Agriculture Tsewang Punchok, Rector, Kargil Campus, UoL, Kaneez Fatima, ADC Kargil, Joint Director Information/Additional Secretary Higher Education, District Officers, Heads of different Departments, faculty members from constituent colleges of the UoL, students and others.
    In his address at the event, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra said that every citizen including students need to play their part for the Viksit Bharat. He said the Viksit Bharat means, when the country is self-reliant in all aspects of growth and development.
    The HLG appreciated and lauded the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for several initiatives undergoing in the country to take India to new heights of growth and development.
    The HLG said that India has witnessed a quantum jump in the economy and has moved forward in education and research. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor stressed on education, health and other sectors so that Ladakh can create its own manpower which will make it self-reliant.
    The Hon’ble Lt. Governor stressed the younger generation to play their active part ahead of the Viksit Bharat @2047 that will make the country prosperous, self-reliant and bridge the existing gaps.
    The Hon’ble Lt. Governor expressed that there is a need to bring together all the stakeholders including youth to share their responsibility and bring the change in accomplishing the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
    The HLG also said that a nation can become developed only with the development of its people saying that people make change and make the country proud.
    A panel discussion on Viksit Bharat @2047 was held in which Joint Director Information/Additional Secretary Higher Education, Imteeaz Kacho, District Treasury Officer Iftikhar Hussain, Principal GDC Drass, Dr Amjad Hussain, Scientist from KVK-I Kargil, Dr Mohd Mehdi, Project Director, KREDA, Kacho Ahmad Ali, National and State Awardee Teacher, Mohd Ali Akhoon and Arif Ladakhi took part in the discussion. Murtaza Fazily moderated the panel discussion.
    After the panel discussion, Secretary to the Honourable Lt. Governor of UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar, spoke about the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and different initiatives that would help in achieving the goal by its target by 2047.
    Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S. K. Mehta, spoke about the new innovations and approaches adopted in education sector to make education diverse.
    He further spoke about different initiatives of the UoL in fostering education research. He emphasised on research in climate change, biodiversity and other contemporary issues in the context of Ladakh.
    Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon spoke about various initiatives being taken in the district for Viksit Bharat @2047 campaign including awareness programs in remote areas to aware public about various schemes of the Government of India.
    He further said that LAHDC Kargil plans to bring all stakeholders together in chalking out a plan for overall development of the district in the next five years.
    Rector, University of Ladakh, Kaneez Fatima presented the vote of thanks to the Union Territory Administration for conducting this wonderful programme.
    Viksit Bharat@2047 is the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of its independence. The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, among others.
