    Hon’ble Lt Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) attends 91st Anniversary Celebrations of Indian Air Force at Leh.

    Leh, 0ct 08, 2023: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) attended the 91st anniversary celebrations of the Indian Air Force with the theme “Har Kaam Desh Ke Naam” at Air Force Station Leh.
    The HLG visited the static display which showcased Rafale aircraft, Cheetal helicopters, Mi-17V5 helicopter, indigenous Akash Missile System and Medium Range Surface to Air Missile.
    Air Commodore DS Handa, Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station, Leh and his team including Group Captain Rajnish Jha, Group Captain Sameer Sharma, Group Captain P Saha, organised the grand event which was attended by civil dignitaries, students and the general public.
    The flying formation of Cheetal helicopters, led by Group Captain Rudra Chattopadhyay, presented an impressive display as part of the IAF Airshow over Air Force Station Leh.
    The HLG commended the Indian Air Force for their service to the nation at large and in particular, Ladakh. He stated that India is strengthening its defense capabilities through indigenous manufacturing of all types of aircrafts and proudly developing advanced weapon systems which is instilling a great sense of pride in every Indian.
    The Air Force officials briefed about the strengths and capabilities of each aircraft and missile systems displayed during the event today.
    Attractive aircraft posters, stickers and other publicity material were distributed amongst the students witnessing the event. It invoked inquisitiveness, particularly among the younger generation, and was a good motivation for them to join the Indian Air Force.
