    Hon’ble Lt Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) attends final rehearsal of students representing Ladakh’s culture & heritage on UT Ladakh’s Foundation Day in different states/UTs.

    Leh, Oct 27, 2023: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), reviewed the final rehearsal of students, who will perform at various Raj Bhawans/Raj Niwas in different states/UTs representing UT Ladakh on its Foundation Day on October 31, at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, NDS Memorial Ground.
    Commissioner Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department, Ladakh, Shri Mehboob Ali Khan, informed the HLG that the students from different schools of Leh and Kargil have been rehearsing at Leh for the past ten days. He also informed that the cultural troupe which will represent Ladakh at Lakshadweep has already left for the Union Territory and the cultural troupes will perform at Raj Niwas/Raj Bhawans in the North-Eastern states will depart on October 28. The remaining troupes will depart on October 29. Shri Mehboob informed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the troupes from Ladakh.
    The HLG interacted with the students and made certain observations so that these troupes could give their best performances while representing Ladakh in different states/UTs. He asked the students to perform to the best of their abilities and represent Ladakh with pride and excellence.
    The HLG commended the trainers/mentors for providing exemplary training to the students.
    The students showcased traditional musical instruments, sang traditional songs and performed traditional dance which they will perform at Raj Bhawans/Raj Niwas.
    Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Commissioner Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, IRS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS; Deputy Secretary, Culture, Leh, Tsewang Paljor; Deputy Secretary, Culture, Kargil, Nazir Hussain, coaches/ mentors, officials of Culture Department, teachers and students were present during the rehearsal.
