    Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) holds meeting to discuss proposal for construction of Media Centre-cum-Office Complex of DIPR Leh.

    Leh, Feb 24, 2024: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) held a meeting in New Delhi to discuss the proposal for the construction of the Media Center-cum-Office Complex of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Leh.
    In the previous meeting held at the LG Secretariat in Leh, there was a detailed discussion on the proposed Media Center-cum-Office Complex of DIPR Leh to be constructed at the existing Assistant Director Information Office and the Auditorium Hall near Polo Ground. The HLG had suggested changes in the design and directed the concerned officials to increase the seating capacity.
    Shri Rohit from Rohit Mudaliar Architects gave a PPT presentation on the design elements incorporated in the building, including the use of local materials and vernacular architectural elements, etc. They informed that the site area spread over 2480.51 square metres would comprise the auditorium, office space, community facilities such as an art studio, photo exhibition, art gallery, library-cum-digital archive; café, parking area, etc. They also informed the HLG that the two-storey building is disabled-friendly.
    The HLG highlighted the need for the maximum utilisation of space. He expressed hope that the auditorium would provide a platform for filmmakers and artists from Ladakh to showcase their work.
    Commissioner/Secretary, Information & Public Relations, Smt Padma Angmo, IIS; Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS and other concerned officials from Central Public Works Department (CPWD) were present in the meeting.
