Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) holds meeting with Dept Secretaries/HODs to review progress of their depts & pending issues.

Leh, July 28, 2023: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) held a meeting with the Departmental Secretaries and Head of Departments (HODs) at Raj Niwas to review the progress of their respective departments along with pending issues.
Several issues were discussed in the meeting, viz. the need to take up the matter with the Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission for the early declaration of the pending results of the Selection Post Ladakh 2022; the irrigation projects; road projects under PMGSY-I, II & III in Ladakh; the early disposal of SRO-43 cases; the upcoming Sindhu Central University at Khaltse; the Flower Festival to be held in Ladakh in collaboration with CSIR – Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, where tulip would be among various indigenous flowers grown in Ladakh; the holding of the LG Polo Cup- Leh Chapter in Leh other than Drass in September during the Ladakh Festival; creating a model for the fair and transparent transfer of school principals; the relief operations carried out by State Disaster Response Force (SDRF); the sending of cultural troupes/ teams comprising boys and girls to different states and UTs of India to celebrate Ladakh Foundation Day on 31st October; the action taken by Ladakh Police to nab the culprits involved in the assault of two policemen; the initiation of the process for the recruitment of personnel for the SDRF; the workshop on settlement of rights of individuals residing in Wildlife Sanctuaries; etc.
The HLG directed the concerned officials to ensure that the salaries of outsourced/contractual staff are released in the first week of the month. He instructed Deputy Commissioner Leh to work on the restoration of flood-affected areas in Leh on a war footing basis, conduct mock drills and ensure the setting up of more lighting/emergency light facilities so that proper rescue operation works can be conducted. He also highlighted the need to take up the matter of the early declaration of the pending results for the Ladakh Selection Posts 2022 with the Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission for the benefit of the youth from Ladakh.
