ICDS Kargil celebrates Poshan Pakhwada at different AWCs in Kargil

Kargil, March 29, 2023: ICDS Kargil today celebrated Poshan Pakhwada at different AWCs in Kargil. The celebration of Poshan Pakhwada and Swastha Balak Supardha was organized by ICDS Kargil at AWC Yar Poyen, Tumail Colony and Baimathang.
The program was attended by District Programme Officer, ICDS Kargil, CDPO Kargil, Supervisors, ANMs, Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, lactating mothers and local women.
DPO ICDS Kargil talked about the objective and importance of celebrating Poshan Pakhwada and stressed on the importance of nutrition and promotion of healthy eating habits and improving nutritional outcomes in a holistic manner.
She also said bringing behavioural change at the individual and community level is an important component to achieve the desired goals of a Kuposhan Mukt Bharat and combating malnutrition among 0-6 years of children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers.
Growth monitoring of children were also taken up at respective AWCs. Awareness was also provided on popularizing Saksham Anganwadi Centres.
