Incharge SDM Zanskar reviews essential services in Zanskar.
Kargil, December 28, 2024: Following the VC meeting with Deputy Commissioner Kargil, the Incharge Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar convened a review meeting. The meeting was attended by Exen PHE and PWD, ARC Food and Cooperative Department and officials of PDD and NHIDCL.
During the meeting, the Incharge SDM emphasized the importance of maintaining seamless public services, particularly in light of the Losar festival celebrations.
The R&B, PMGSY and Mechanical Department informed the officer that the snow clearance and dusting work on all the inner routes are going on. The officer personally inspected nearby link roads to monitor snow clearance and soil dusting efforts.
He directed the R&B, PMGSY and Mechanical Department to expedite snow clearance and dusting operations to prevent traffic disruptions and potential mishaps.
The officer also reviewed the progress of snow clearance on Package 7 and 8 of NH301 with representatives of the NHIDCL.The JE of NHIDCL informed the officer that the snow clearance work is underway on war footing basis on the NH-301 and assured to restore traffic on the National Highway as early as possible.
Further, the officer instructed Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply during the Losar festival.
The PDD informed the officer about challenges faced due to ongoing snowfall, which have now been resolved, and assured round-the-clock electricity supply.
The Incharge SDM stressed the need for close coordination among all departments to ensure the smooth provision of public utilities during the festivities.
The administration is committed to addressing the needs of residents of Zanskar and ensuring a safe and joyous Losar celebration for all.
