Indian Army, SAI Kargil celebrate International Women’s Day with support from Team Stringmo.

Kargil, March 08, 2025: The Indian Army, in collaboration with Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre Kargil and supported by Team Stringmo, today celebrated International Women’s Day at SAI Kargil.
The event aimed to honor remarkable women of Kargil who have made significant contributions in education, art, sports, and other fields, inspiring the audience with their journeys.
The program commenced with Ghulam Mustafa, Incharge SAI, warmly welcomed guests from Indian Army and presented them with traditional khataks as a gesture of respect.
The event featured prominent speakers, including Kaneez Fatima, President of Team Stringmo, and Richen Youdol, the first Para Taekwondo Bronze Medalist from Kargil. Other inspiring speakers included: Gulnaz Fatima (NCC Cadet), Richen Choskit & Bilqees Fatima (Volleyball Players), Tayeeba Fatima (Archer), Asiya (Boxer), Aqeela Banoo & Siddiqa (Ice Hockey Players), Shireen & Zahra Batool (Taekwondo Athletes), Archo Bushra (Snow Skiing) and Khushboo Joshi (NGO Representative).
The event was gracefully hosted by Zaibun Nissa, who ensured smooth proceedings and an engaging atmosphere. A key highlight of the program was the Taekwondo and Boxing demonstrations by SAI students, showcasing their strength and dedication to sports.
The chief guest, in his address, applauded the female achievers for their resilience and contributions. He emphasized the importance of empowering women and encouraged young girls to actively participate in diverse fields. The chief guest distributed prizes among the speakers.
The event concluded with Ghulam Mustafa (Incharge SAI) and Mohd Ali presenting mementos to the dignitaries and participants in appreciation of their contributions.
The celebration marked a significant milestone in recognizing and promoting women’s achievements in Kargil, inspiring the next generation to pursue their dreams and break barriers in various domains.
