Joint Director, YSS visits Drass for on-spot review of works.
Kargil, July 20, 2024: Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, Ladakh, Moses Kunzang today visited Drass for an on-spot review of the Drass Winter Sports Academy Chair Lift Central Heating Hostel.
He was accompanied by LAHDC Councillor, Abdul Wahid, Executive Engineer, PW(R&B)-Kargil, Mohammad Sadiq; Assistant Executive Engineer Ali Khan, Consultant of Ronmas and officials of Youth Services & Sports Department.
Moses Kunzang provided essential directives to expedite the project’s completion. He emphasized Drass’s potential as a centre for sports activities and noted that several significant projects are underway in the Sub-Division.
He also mentioned that a similar initiative is being developed in Zanskar. Upon completion, Ladakh will bid to host the Khelo India Winter Games which will focus on both ice and snow events, he said. He added that such infrastructure developments are expected to boost tourism as well in the region.
