    Joint Secretary, DPIIT, team Kangsing call on Hon’ble Lt Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

    Leh, Dec 16, 2023: Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Government of India, Shri Balamurugan Devaraj, IAS called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lieutenant Governor Secretariat.
    Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Director, Industries and Commerce, Shri Nazir Ahmad Shiekh, Assistant Director, Handloom, Leh, Shri Imtisaal and Assistant Director, Handicraft, Leh, Shri Anjeel Singh were present in the meeting.
    Shri Balamurugan Devaraj apprised the HLG about the Industrial Development Scheme 2017 and other industrial schemes being implemented in the country. He informed that the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has initiated to develop industrial policy in Ladakh. He also discussed DPIIT’s plan about industrial development in Ladakh. Shri Devaraj informed that he met local entrepreneurs and discussed industrial schemes/ policy with them in Ladakh.
    The HLG directed Director, Industries and Commerce, Shri Nazir Ahmad Shiekh to coordinate the Joint Secretary, DPIIT. The HLG instructed Assistant Director, Handloom and Handicraft, Leh to develop new initiatives for the development in handloom and handicraft units.
    A delegation from Kangsing International Snow & Ice Sculpture Team led by Shri Stanzin Norboo called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at LG Secretariat.
    Shri Norboo apprised the HLG that the team received invitations to participate in the 26th Harbin International Snow Sculpture competition at Harbin, China and 21st International Snow Sculpting Competition Japan Cup 2024 at Nayoro City Hokkaido Japan. He requested financial assistance to enable the team to participate in both events.
    The HLG directed Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS to examine the matter.
