    Kargil Police, BIS organize awareness program on ISO standards.
    Kargil, October 10, 2024: District Police, Kargil, in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards, Northern Regional Chandigarh today conducted an awareness and facilitation program on ISO standards and other quality assurance matters at Syed Memorial Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
    Vishnu Gupta, Ex- DDG, BIS and Sahil Samdhian, Young Professional, Northern Regional Office, BIS, Chandigarh were resource persons on the occasion while Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Shree Ram R; Additional Superintendent of Police, Mujeeb ur Rehman and representatives from different Government Departments attended the session.
    The resource persons gave a detailed awareness on Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
    The BIS is a National Standards Body of India that develop and publish Indian Standards, Implement Conformity Assessment Schemes, Recognise & run laboratories for Conformity Assessment, Implement Hallmarking, Work for Consumer empowerment, Conduct capacity building programs on quality assurance and represent the country in ISO & IEC.
    Quality Management System, ISO 9001 is a globally recognized standard for quality management. It helps organizations of all sizes and sectors to improve their performance, meet customer expectations and demonstrate their commitment to quality. Its requirements define how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve a quality management system (QMS).
    Implementing ISO 9001 means that the organization has put in place effective processes and trained staff to deliver flawless products or services time after time.
    With more than one million certificates issued to organizations in 189 countries, ISO 9001 is the most widely used quality management standard in the world.
