    LAACL Kargil organizes painting, music competition.

    Kargil, May 20, 2023: Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Language (LAACL), Kargil today organized an on-spot painting and music competition at Culture Academy Hall, Kargil for children between 16-22 years.
    Executive Councilor, RD, Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil Er. Punchok Tashi was the chief guest. In his key address, he said such competitions encourage creativity and artistic expression of children as well as promote Ladakhi culture and language.
    He said that students must participate in such events to showcase their hidden talent keeping in view Ladakh’s rich identity and ethnicity.
    Tashi congratulated all the participants and encouraged them for showcasing their talent and enthusiasm. He thanked the department for organizing such events for the students and also hoped to organize such events in the future.
    He said education is a priority sector for LAHDC and the council is committed adopt Hill Council Model Schools to improve education and ensure quality education in government schools.
    The painting competition saw colourful and imaginative artworks that depicted Ladakh’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and daily life.
    The music competition featured melodious and heartfelt performances, showcasing the love and pride of children for their culture and language.
    The judges for the competition were renowned artists and musicians from Kargil, who praised the skills of children and their creativity. The winners of the competition were awarded prizes and certificates. All the participants also received participation certificates.
    On the occasion, Chief Education Officer, Kargil Mushtaq Ahmad said the event was a huge success drawing a large crowd of children, teachers and community members.
    He said it was a great opportunity for children to showcase their talent and learn from each other as well as to celebrate Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage.
    Earlier, Deputy Secretary LAACL, Nazir Ahmad said the academy is committed to promoting and preserving Ladakhi art, culture and language and plans to organize such events in the future.
    Pertinently, 50 children from different schools of Kargil participated in the event, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm.
    In the music competition, Shaheen Fatima, of High School Minjee, Ghulam Abass of HS Lankoor and Ishrat Fatima of HS Kaksar won first, second and third positions respectively.
    In the painting competition, Zainab Bee of SVPS, Tahira Banoo of HS Kaksar and Kacho Ibrahim GMHS Lankoor won first, second and third prizes respectively.
