Leh, Dec 11, 2023: Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission, Leh organised a pledge-taking activity in collaboration with the Police Department, Social Welfare, and Women and Child Development on December 11.
As an effort to combat gender-based violence and promote gender equality, the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission has launched the Nayi Chetna 2.0 National Campaign in collaboration with various government departments.
The event saw participation from District Social Welfare Officer, Nilza Angmo and her staff, Inspector Kunzang from the Women Police Station along with her team, and key personnel from Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission, including District Mission Manager, Minakshi, District Programme Manager, Asiya Tabbassum, and District MIS, Diskit Angmo.
The campaign, spanning across Leh district, brings together key stakeholders such as the Women and Child Development, Police Department, Social Welfare, Child Protection, District Legal Service Authority, National Health Mission, and Higher Education Department.
It was organised in different blocks of Leh district and involving multiple departments, the Gender Sensitization activities aim to address deep-rooted gender disparities and empower women across the nation. The concerted efforts of these departments seek to create awareness, promote inclusivity, and foster a society that is free from gender-based violence.
Nayi Chetna 2.0 stands as a beacon of hope for positive change, inspiring communities to come together and actively participate in creating a more equitable and just society.
