MC-Kargil holds interaction session with Street Vendors (Beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi Scheme).
Kargil, July 08, 2024: The Municipal Committee of Kargil today organized an interaction over lunch with beneficiaries of the PM SVANidhi scheme. It was attended by street vendors of Kargil Town and staff of the Municipal Committee.
The event was graced by Administrator, MC-Kargil Imteeaz Kacho. He appreciated the level of dedication of the street vendors and acknowledged the efforts of the Municipal Committee, Kargil team in ensuring the success of the PM SVANidhi scheme. He added that almost all street vendors in the region have been covered under the scheme.
Under the ‘PM SVANidhi se SIMRIDHI.’ Municipal Committee, Kargil has done profiling of all street vendors, ensuring comprehensive coverage and facilitation of benefits. This initiative aims to empower street vendors and enhance their livelihoods through financial support and access to various Government schemes.
On the occasion, street vendors also spoke highlighting the benefits they have received and also expressed their gratitude. They highlighted their grievances as well.
The event underscored the commitment of the Municipal Committee towards uplifting the street vendor community and promoting their economic well-being under PM SVANidhi.
