Media Secretary BJP Unit Kargil & President of Forest Dept’s Watch and Ward workers call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, Nov 13, 2023: Shri Nasir Hussain Zaidi, Media Secretary, BJP Unit Kargil, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, was present in the meeting.
Shri Zaidi raised the need for additional playgrounds in Kargil town. He informed that Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, Kargil allocated by the District Administration Kargil for conducting sports events is reserved for government events and fewer sports events are conducted at the ground. He requested the HLG that the ground should be reserved for sports events. He also requested the HLG to build additional playgrounds in Kargil town.
Shri Zaidi apprised the HLG of the distribution of agricultural land at Kurbathang, Kargil and informed that some households of Balti Bazar Kargil have not allocated the land at Kurbathang. He requested the HLG to review the distribution of land among the households. He also informed the HLG that Shri Manzoor Hussain, working as Orderly at DC Office, Kargil have not received his salary for the last three years.
The HLG suggested Shri Zaidi to discuss the matter of Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, Kargil with LAHDC, Kargil. He said that delimitation of both Municipal Committees will be conducted and the issue of allotment of land will be solved post-delimitation exercise. The HLG inquired about the salary issue of Shri Manzoor Hussain with the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil.
A delegation of Watch and Ward (Mali) working in the Forest Department led by its President Shri Mohd Baqir called on HLG at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, was present in the meeting.
Shri Baqir informed the HLG that they have been working as Watch and Ward (Mali) in Forest Department for the last two decades. He informed the HLG that they are given a salary of Rs 750 per month and requested the enhancement of their wages.
The HLG said that a committee has been constituted to look into the issues of contractual workers/daily wagers working in different departments of UT Ladakh. He assured the delegates that the UT Administration would take necessary action based on the recommendations of the Committee.
