Mission Poshan 2.0: Growth Monitoring Devices distributed to 7 ICDS Projects in Kargil.
Kargil, Dec 11: To combat malnutrition among children, the Department of Social and Tribal Welfare ICDS Kargil today distributed growth monitoring devices viz: adult weighing scale, salter scale, infantometer, stadiometer to all seven ICDS Projects in the district.
The move aims to identify and address Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) among children.
The growth monitoring device, a pivotal component of Mission Poshan 2.0, empowers Anganwadi Workers with real-time data to assess nutritional status of children.
By implementing this state-of-the-art technology, the mission ensures timely intervention for children identified with MAM or SAM, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of nutrition programs.
District Programme Officer Kargil, CDPO and District Mission Coordinator Kargil said they are committed to the holistic well-being of every child in Kargil.
“Provisioning of growth monitoring devices across all ICDS projects Kargil, we strengthen our ability to identify malnutrition early and initiate appropriate measures swiftly. This is a crucial step towards ensuring that no child in Kargil is left behind in terms of nutrition and health,” they said.
The growth monitoring devices are equipped with advanced technology, allowing healthcare professionals to monitor key growth indicators and nutritional parameters accurately. This proactive approach aligns with the mission’s overarching goal of eradicating malnutrition and promoting the healthy development of children in District Kargil.
