    Leh, 29th August 2024 – In a strong initiative to empower women and promote physical fitness, Mission Shakti organized a special self-defense training program on the occasion of National Sports Day. The event was held today on 29th August 2024 at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College Leh, which aligned with the spirit of National Sports Day, aimed to promote empowerment and safety among women and girls.
    The session began with a comprehensive briefing by District Coordinator Diskit Ladol, who provided an overview of the Mission Shakti Schemes and their objectives. The Mission Shakti program aims to support and empower women through various initiatives and resources, with a focus on safety, well-being, and personal development.
    The training session was conducted by experienced instructors Ms. Shehnaz Parveen, specializing in martial arts and sports promoter, served as the guest resource person for the day. Ms. Parveen, known for her expertise in self-defense techniques and her commitment to promoting physical fitness, led the class with enthusiasm and professionalism.
    The program aimed to equip participants with self-defense techniques, practical skills to protect themselves in real-life situations, emphasizing the importance of confidence, awareness, and physical fitness. The class was well-received by the students, who actively participated in the practical exercises and demonstrations. Ms. Parveen’s engaging instruction and hands-on approach provided valuable skills that the participants can use to protect themselves in various situations.
    Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn self-defense techniques, noting that the training not only boosted their physical abilities but also their confidence and mental strength.
    This self-defense training program is part of a broader initiative to promote gender equality, safety, and empowerment for women. The Mission Shakti team plans to conduct more such programs in the coming months to reach even more women and girls across the region.
