MP Ladakh chairs 3rd BSNL TAC meeting of Leh/Kargil.

Leh, July 14: Member of Parliament ( MP), Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal chaired the 3rd Telephone Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), at DC Conference Hall Leh in the presence of representative from TAC members from Changthang, EC Tashi Yakzee, Councillor Cha, Stanzin Lakpa; Councillor Panamik, Tsering Sangdup, Councillor, Lamayuru, Dr Murup Dorje and EC, Kargil, Mohammad Ali Chandan who joined virtually along with concerned office bearers of BSNL Ladakh.
During the meeting, the MP was briefed about the undergoing operations and development plans of the BSNL in various sites of Leh and Kargil with special emphasis on 4G saturation project of the BSNL Ladakh.
While reviewing the outreach and facilities being provided by BSNL, the MP asked the public sector undertaking to stress on rural telephony with special emphasis on the development of telecommunication facilities in the remote areas such as Zanskar, Nubra, and Changthang.
The meeting focused to facilitate universal and equitable access to connectivity for growth and development throughout Ladakh with special focus on far-off and rural areas with no network zone or with 2G facilities. Also, stressed on timely erection of towers in these regions before the onset of winter season. He directed the TAC members to provide the BSNL with a priority list of the sites which require urgent broadband services. Further, he directed the public sector undertaking to appoint dedicated team to be departed for soil testing and surveys needed to be done in Zanskar.
TAC members raised various issues concerning their particular regions, to which MP directed the BSNL for timely intervention and address the manpower issues wherever necessary.
