    National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh observes Vigilance Awareness Week.
    Leh, November 2, 2024: The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 28th October to 3rd November, 2024 with the theme given by Central Vigilance Commission “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”. The Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 commenced with the administering of the integrity pledge to the Officials of the Institute by Director, National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa Dr Padma Gurmet, on 28th October 2023.
    During the vigilance awareness week, the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh has organised several awareness programmes/ capacity building training, lectures and various competitions for students and staff members. The aim of celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week is to create awareness among the employees and students to work towards instituting corruption free philosophy/ bring in transparency, maintain absolute integrity and devotion to duty at all times.
    The week-long program concluded on November 2, 2024 with distribution of prizes to the winners of various competitions by Director, National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh Dr Padma Gurmet.
    Shri Rigzin Angchok, Manager, State Bank of India, Leh was the Guest of Honour during the concluding event. He presented a technical lecture on Cyber security and financial fraud awareness. Dr Padma Gurmet in his speech stated that Vigilance Awareness Week is one of the Participative Vigilance initiatives of the Central Vigilance Commission in the fight against corruption with aims to bring together all the stakeholders. It is observed to create greater sensitivity about the need for ethics and transparency in governance and public administration. Every year Vigilance Awareness Week is observed in the week in which the birthday of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls in. He urged all participants to work towards developing a Culture of Integrity and commitment.
