National Lok Adalat held at Kargil 189 cases disposed off, Rs One Crore Sixty Nine Lacs and Eight Thousand Eight recovered as settlement amount/ fine
KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 11, 2021: As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and according to the project plan for focus implementation for the year 2021 issued under the patronage of the Patron in Chief Ladakh Legal Services Authority, Justice Pankaj Mithal, Chief Justice J&K High Court and under the directions of the Executive Chairman Ladakh Legal Services Authority Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh, National Lok Adalat was organised by the District Legal Services Authority Kargil under the guidance of the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kargil (Principal Dist. And Sessions Judge Kargil) Mohd Rafiq Chak here today.
Different types of cases including MACT, matrimonial, cheque bounce cases under NI Act, civil cases, criminal compoundable matters, traffic challans, municipal and matters related to shops and establishments, revenue cases, pre-litigation cases etc were taken up for hearing during the Lok Adalat.
4 benches were constituted which were presided over by the Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil Mohd Rafiq Chaq , Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil Tsewang Phunstog, Munsiff Sankoo Moneer Ahmad and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil Abdul Gaffar Zargar.
Out of the total number of 275 cases referred to the Lok Adalat,189 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs One Crore Sixty Nine Lacs and Eight Thousand Eight recovered as settlement amount/ fine was recovered as settlement amount/fine.
