    One-day refresher training on Sample Registration System held at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil.
    Kargil, January 27, 2025: A one-day refresher training session for Part-Time Enumerators (PTEs) on Sample Registration System (SRS) was conducted today at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil.
    The training was aimed to enhance participants’ understanding and implementation of the SRS, a vital tool for the accurate collection and monitoring of demographic data.
    The training was delivered through a combination of PowerPoint presentations and a live demonstration of the SRS mobile application. This provided participants with a detailed overview of the system’s features and functionalities.
    The live demo offered practical insights into using the app for registering and tracking vital events, such as births and deaths, while ensuring the accurate and timely submission of data.
    The training was imparted by Rohini Pokhrel, Assistant Director, and Vijay Kumar, Assistant Director, from the Directorate of Census Operations, J&K.
    Special emphasis was placed on data accuracy and completeness, as the information collected through the SRS is crucial for policymaking, healthcare planning, and socio-economic development.
    Participants were encouraged to familiarize themselves with the SRS app to streamline their data collection processes and address challenges faced in the field. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing participants to discuss their concerns and seek clarifications from the experts.
    The training was well-received and marked an important step toward enhancing the accuracy and reliability of demographic data in the region.
    This refresher session is part of the ongoing efforts by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India, to build capacity, improve data quality, and ensure the effective implementation of government initiatives in Kargil district.
