Padum-Darcha Road reopens for vehicular traffic EC Phunsok Tashi hails Project DEEPAK, OC 126 RCC Padum for tireless efforts in road clearance works
KARGIL, OCTOBER 31, 2021: Padum to Darcha Himachal Pradesh Road was today re-opened for vehicular traffic after snow from the Shingkunla Pass was cleared by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
Officials said that 7 vehicles carrying around 50 passengers reached Kargyak safely.
Executive Councilor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchok Tashi appreciated the OC 126 RCC Padum and Project DEEPAK for their tireless efforts in clearing the road after the recent untimely snowfall.
Due to sudden and untimely snowfall, the road was closed for vehicular traffic as a result around 200 passengers of Zanskar were stranded at Himachal Pradesh.
