Leh, June 18, 2024: Leh, June 18, 2024: Placement Coordinator, Sindhu Central University Ladakh, Shri Gurmet Dorjai called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education, Smt Padma Angmo, IIS and Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Shri Gurmet informed the HLG that he is part of the first batch of Sindhu Central University Ladakh currently pursuing MTech in Energy and Technology Policy at IIT Kanpur. He requested the HLG’s recommendation to companies/PSUs, specifically those which are operating in the renewable energy sector, for their participation in the placement drive. He apprised the HLG of the rigorous training and practical experiences undergone by them at IIT Kanpur.
Highlighting the importance of conducting a placement drive at Sindhu Central University Ladakh separately, the HLG asked Smt Padma to do the needful.
Smt Stanzin Dolma, who is working at Field Petroleum Depot, ASC 406 Unit, Leh, called on the HLG at the LG Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary, Smt Padma Angmo, IIS and Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Smt Stanzin informed the HLG that she has been working as casual worker at the Field Petroleum Depot for the past 38 years. She also informed that despite working hard over the last four decades she was not offered a permanent post. She requested the HLG’s intervention in this regard.
The HLG informed Smt Stanzin that he would take up the matter with the Army officials but the Indian Army would have the final say in the matter.
