Principal Secretary, IT Dept Ladakh reviews Aadhaar saturation in UT Ladakh

Leh, November 15: Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar today held a meeting to review the status of Aadhaar saturation and Aadhaar-related services in Ladakh.
At the outset, the concerned officials apprised Principal Secretary Khirwar of the status of the deployment of Aadhaar enrolment kits in banks, ICDS centers, etc. The officials also informed that out of the 13 kits to be handed over to the Rural Development Dept, the distribution has been completed in Kargil district while distribution in Leh shall be completed shortly.
Principal Secretary, Khirwar stressed that proper machinery and manpower should be arranged in rural areas to ensure maximum enrolment and to avoid misappropriation. He directed both the DCs to disseminate information through bulk message service to cover all the left-out population, especially children. He also instructed the banks to work on their visibility through proper publicity to improve Aadhaar penetration locally. Further, he instructed the concerned officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the procurement of Child Enrolment Lite Client (CELC) tablets for the ICDS dept. He exhorted that inter-departmental synergy is important to accomplish the tasks on time.
Additionally, he instructed Director Health Service, Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorjey to appoint nodal officers from Health Dept for Adhaar enrolment.
Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh, Saugat Biswas informed the meeting that Aadhaar Enrolment Centers shall be set up in camp mode to step up Aadhaar enrolment drives for the age group 0-5 years and for the left-out population.
