Leh, July 13, 2024: Shri Sonam Stanzin, an agriculture entrepreneur and Proprietor of Rock Art Sanctuary and Thangjuk Nurseries called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS and Commissioner Secretary to HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS were present in the meeting.
Shri Stanzin apprised the HLG of the work done by him for the preservation work of 6000-years-old rocks carving at Thangjuk in Domkhar and requested the HLG to visit the Rock Art Sanctuary. He informed the HLG about his agricultural work also, including the establishment of Thangjuk Nurseries, where he conducts seminars and workshops to train farmers in agriculture. Shri Stanzin also informed the HLGabout the production of apricots in the area and requested the provision of an Apricot Dryer machine to dry apricots in large quantities.
The HLG spoke to Director of DIHAR Dr Chourasia and directed him to discuss the procurement of the Apricot Dryer machine with the Advisor to the HLG. He asked Shri Stanzin to meet with Director DIHAR to discuss the provisions of the procurement of the machine.
Smt Stanzin Spaldon, a resident of Housing Colony, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (DR) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS and Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Smt Spaldon informed the HLG about the land allotted to her at Housing Colony by the then-DC Leh after her father passed away during the flash flood incident in August 2010. She also informed the problem she encounters as her house is not accessible due to the blockage of the road as a result of the ongoing construction in another plot in front of her home. She requested the HLG’s intervention in ensuring proper access to her home from the road.
DC Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve informed the HLG that the Tehsildar had visited the site to take stock of the situation. He also informed that he would take necessary action based on the report of the Tehsildar.
The HLG stated that everyone is entitled to Right of Way and asked DC Leh to look into the matter and take necessary action.
