Regional Chief of HUDCO Regional Office Jammu & SSP Leh call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, June 25, 2024: A delegation from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) Regional Office, Jammu, led by its Regional Chief, Sri Deepak Bansal, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary, Shri Sanjiv Khirwar, IAS and Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Sri L Franklin, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Shri Deepak informed the HLG that the organisation’s main objective is financing Housing and Urban development projects in the country. He apprised the HLG of Rs 5 crore assistance provided by HUDCO for rehabilitating the flood-affected villages during the cloud burst incident in Leh in 2010. He also informed about various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities initiated by the organisation and apprised the HLG of the organisation’s interest in providing CSR funds for developmental activities.
Advisor to the HLG Dr Pawan Kotwal and Principal Secretary Shri Sanjiv Khirwar informed the HLG of the requirement for kid-friendly furniture in government schools of Ladakh.
The HLG appreciated HUDCO for its work and asked Shri Khirwar to identify the requirements at Government Schools in Ladakh and prepare a comprehensive plan to share with HUDCO so that they can provide funds under its CSR initiatives.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh, Smt Shruti Arora, IPS, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat.
Smt Shruti apprised the HLG of the issue between truck drivers carrying goods from Leh-Manali and Leh-Srinagar national highways of the ongoing construction of the new terminal at KBR Airport in Leh due to the delay in the unloading of goods near Hall of Fame. She informed about steps being taken to tackle the issue, including the maintenance of a register to allow the truck’s unloading on a first come first serve basis.
The HLG asked Smt Shruti to deploy two Police personnel at the unloading site to enforce the order issued by her to ensure that such an incident does not occur again.
