SDM Zanskar inspects PMGSY road of Anmu to Testa,Attends Councilor Cup Archery Tournament 2023

Kargil April 17, 2023: Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay on Sunday inspected PMGSY road of Anmu to Testa and took its assessment for vehicle movement.
The locals of villages Testa and Yal apprised the SDM about issues of side levelling and culverts of the road. They informed SDM Zanskar that the culverts constructed on this route are not satisfied in its height.
During the winter season the water of stream gets freezed under the culverts and it spreads over the road, due to freezing of water on road, it is very dangerous for moments of vehicle during the winter season.
SDM assured the public to take up the issues with the concerned department for early redressal of the issues. This route has been black-topped for 15 km out of 21 km till date while the remaining part of the road will be completed this season. He also inspected the snow clearance work on this road and inquired the locals about it.
During the visit, the SDM also attended the final function of the 8th edition of Councilor Cup Archery Tournament 2023 as guest of honour.
The tournament was organized by Tokspo Social Welfare Society at Icher. Councilor Cha Constituency, Stanzin Lakpa graced the event as chief guest, OC 126 RCC Major Arvind Kumar and Dr. Jampall Shenyen Assistant Professor also joined the event as special guests.
A total of 15 teams from different villages of Lungnak block participated in this tournament. The trophy was lifted by Tokspo Icher team scoring 510 points and the second and third positions were won by Barava Team Pipcha, Sharp Shooter Raru scoring 291 and 252 points respectively.
While addressing the gathering, Councilor Cha appreciated the Tokspo Social Welfare Society Icher for successfully organizing the tournament and assured to provide all necessary requirements for conducting such a tournament in the future.
He also assured the general public to redress the remaining overall developmental works of Lungnak. The SDM also addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile, prizes were distributed among the winner and runners-up teams by the guests and special prize was given to Archer Lobzang Zotpa of Tokspo Icher team for scoring 102 points in the three-day tournament and declared as Archer of the tournament.
