    Several delegations call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd)

    Leh, 22 March, 2025: A delegation led by Councillor from Tingmosgang Constituency, Tashi Tundup called on the Hon’ble Lt Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) to request his intervention in filling the vacant post of Headmaster at the Government High School in Tia.
    Under Secretary, School Education, Sumera Shafi, JKAS and Chief Education Officer, Leh, Sonam Wangchuk informed the HLG about the ongoing work to promote and transfer teachers and masters followed by headmasters. They informed that the process of promotion and transfer of headmasters to vacant schools is expected to be completed by April 15, 2025.
    The HLG, highlighting the UT Administration’s commitment not to keep any schools headless, assured the delegation that the vacant post would be filled by April 15, 2025 after following due processes.
    Chief Secretary UT Ladakh Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr. L Franklin, IAS; Director Finance Dr. Safdar Ali, IRS; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shabbir Hussain, JKAS; Chief Education Officer Leh and Under Secretary School Education were present during the meetings.
    A delegation of ex-servicemen from the Indo-Tibetan Border Force (ITBF) called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lt Governor’s Secretariat to seek HLG’s intervention in the allotment of land in their favour.
    The delegation highlighted that despite multiple appeals to the concerned authorities, including the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, the allotment of land has not been finalised.
    Addressing the delegation, the HLG acknowledged the issue but clarified that currently there is no existing policy to address their request. Furthermore, the HLG advised the delegation of ITBF ex-servicemen to pursue the matter with the LAHDC, as land-related matters fall under their jurisdiction.
