    Several delegations from Kargil called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra.

    Kargil, Jan 22: Several delegations called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Niwas, Kargil on the sixth day of his visit to Kargil.
    Secretary to HLG, Ravinder Kumar; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhary and Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho were present on the occasion.
    A public delegation from Trespone village led by Executive Councillor, Social Welfare/Animal Husbandry/Agriculture Agha Syed Mujtaba Mussavi called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra in Kargil and requested that the Naib Tehsildar of GM Pore be given the powers of Tehsildar so that people do not need to travel all the way to Sankoo Tehsil Headquarter for getting various revenue-related certificates issued and documents processed. The issue regarding upgradation of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) also came up for discussion. In respect of the issue regarding Naib Tehsildar, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor said that the matter will be looked into. While stating that distance and population should be the only criteria for establishment/upgradation of a health centre, he said that he will direct the concerned authorities to formulate a comprehensive plan. He further stated that his foremost priorities are the school and health sectors.
    Mohd. Sadiq, a resident of Choskore sought the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s intervention in getting released funds to him for restoration of an irrigation canal (zamindari khul) which he had executed. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner to look into the matter and take necessary action.
    On the other hand, Sakina Bano, a Comminuty Health Officer (CHO) of Health Department urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor to have her higher grade released. He directed the Chief Medical Officer to examine the matter as per established norms
    A delegation of Vocational Trainers of School Education Department called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested him to help in getting their salaries released on time. The members also said that their remuneration is low and that there is no provident fund subscription. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the concerned authorities to have the matter of delay in release of salary resolved promptly.
    A public delegation from Minji Village met Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and voiced their concerns about not receiving any land compensation for widening of the Kargil-Zanskar National Highway. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner to examine the case and take necessary action in accordance with established norms.
    Mehdi Nasiri, Kargil’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) player also called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and raised the issue regarding delay in registration of the MMA Association. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor instructed his Secretary to have the matter resolved while also directing that all issues related to sports persons should be looked into.
    Khadim Hussain of Taisuru, whose house had caught fire recently, requested the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for financial assistance. He passed necessary instructions for extending all possible help to the victim.
    Councillor, LAHDC, Lankerchey, Ghulam Haider, also called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and presented a memorandum of demands/issues of his Constituency regarding various welfare and developmental works. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed his Secretary to look into all the issues.
    Samilarly, Councillor, LAHDC, Parkachik, Agha Ainul Huda submitted a memorandum of demands/issues of his Constituency to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor regarding welfare and developmental works. He emphasized the revival of the irrigation canal project from Parkachik to Khawos. He also sought intervention in development of Suru as a tourism hub as it holds immense potential. In respect of the irrigation canal, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor gave directions to review all irrigation canal projects in the District which have not yielded any results including the one in Parkachik. In respect of the demand for development of Suru as a tourism destination, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor assured that all the issues will be looked into.
    On the other hand, a delegation led by Chairman, Haj Committee, Mohd. Ali Majaaz called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and raised the demand for land for construction of Haj Committee building. He sought intervention in getting a Passport Seva Kendra sanctioned for Kargil and also discussed issues pertaining to the current office of the Hajj Committee. In respect of the Passport Seva Kendra, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed his Secretary to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
    A delegation led by District President, BJP, Mohd. Ali Chandan called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and thanked him for the CT-Scan machine of District Hospital, Kargil. He also raised the issue regarding need for an MRI machine in the hospital apart from several other issues. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor assured that all the demands will be examined and necessary action will be taken as per established norms.
    A delegation led by BJP Mandal President, TSG Block, presented a memorandum of demands including establishment of a Police Station and raised issues regarding roads. In respect of roads, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner to look in the matter.
    Delegations comprising people from various sections of society and individuals also met Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor with developmental and individual issues. He listened to all of them carefully and assured that action will be taken on their merits.
    Meanwhile, Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra in the presence of Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon flagged off a Car Rally to “Point 13620FT” from Raj Niwas, Kargil.
    The event was organized by LAHDC Kargil and District Administration Kargil. The event was aimed to promote border tourism and road safety in hilly regions. The initiative aligns with the Road Safety Month, aiming to enhance awareness and ensure safe travel experiences.
    While addressing the drivers, Hon’ble Lt. Governor advised drivers against rash driving, emphasizing the importance of responsible and proper driving.
    On the occasion, Hon’ble Lt. Governor was briefed by Col. Shanu Krishna 31 Punjab Regiment about the historical importance of “Point 13620FT”.
    On the occasion, First aid kits were also distributed among the drivers.
