Special Rapporteur, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) convene Meeting at SDM Office, Nubra.
Leh, 30 August 2024: Dr. Ashok Kumar Verma, Special Rapporteur of National Human Rights Commission chaired a meeting today at the conference hall in the SDM Office, Nubra.
Various departmental heads took active part in the meeting, holding detailed discussions with him on the challenges confronted by the Nubra region. The meeting focused on addressing various local issues and implementing schemes related to the welfare of poor and marginalized citizens in the region. The discussions also aimed at finding sustainable solutions, ensuring the protection of human rights in the region.
Dr Verma was warmly welcomed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nubra, Mr. Tufail Iqbal, who expressed his appreciation for the Special Rapporteur’s visit.
