Sports Promotion Society’s archery tournament final held at Chhutumail, Sodh.
Kargil, 07, 2024: Joint Director, Information, Ladakh and Administrator, Municipal Committee, Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho today attended the finals of the Archery Tournament organized by Sports Promotion Society, Kargil at Chhutumail, Sodh.
Addressing the event, Imteeaz Kacho congratulated both the participating teams and the winners for showcasing exemplary sportsmanship spirit and spectacular team work.
The Joint Director expressed happiness about the fact that traditional and modern archery are simultaneously picking up in Sodh area and in the rest of Kargil. He stressed on laying additional thrust on modern archery to get more opportunities at national and international platforms while also keeping intact the cultural identity of the region.
Kacho advised the sports societies to continue with their sincere efforts in the sports sector in Sodh region and asserted the importance of overall growth of youth in academics and sports. He further said that tournaments in various disciplines should be organised in the area round-the-year. There is no dearth of talent in Sodh and no stone should be left unturned to help our youth nurture their potential, he added.
Finally, Kacho lauded the sincere efforts of Murtaza Ali Kacho, General Secretary, Sports Promotion Society and his strong team for the successful conclusion of the archery tournament.
President, District Olympic Association Kargil, Syed Mehraj Shah congratulated the organizers for preserving the cultural values of sports and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in making the tournament successful. He expressed hopes about seeing the youngsters of the area scale new heights in various games. He then thanked the organizers for making him a part of this celebration of sportsmanship.
The final event was also attended by Mohammad Hussain, Numberdar, Yurbaltaq and other village representatives besides a large number of sports enthusiasts.
Pertinently, Rangyul Aqchamal clinched the victory in the tournament finals by defeating K2 Warriors. Later, the winners, runners-up and exemplary performers were felicitated by the dignitaries with trophies and souvenirs.
During the tournament, over thirty teams across the District competed in both traditional and modern archery.
