Stanzin Gurmat and Tsering Angmo from Randum and Delegation from Dha Bema call on Hon’ble Lt Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

Leh, 24 February, 2025: Stanzin Gurmat and Tsering Angmo from Rangdum, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lt Governor’s Secretariat. Stanzin Gurmat and Tsering Angmo apprised the HLG of their son’s condition, who has been suffering from encephalitis for the past two months, despite receiving treatment in Srinagar. They sought financial assistance for his further treatment. In response, the HLG instructed Director Health Dr. Thinles to arrange for their son’s treatment at AIIMS Delhi, should they wish to pursue it.
In a separate meeting, a delegation from Dha Bema, led by Nambardar Namgyal Dorjey called on the Hon’ble Lt Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. The delegation requested the construction of a 12 km irrigation canal from Chumarchings to Lasthang Bema to support their proposed new command area.
The delegation highlighted that the proposed canal would irrigate ten thousand Kanals of land, significantly boosting agriculture and horticulture activities in the region. The HLG assured them that their proposal would be reviewed and stressed the importance of prioritizing developmental activities while considering the availability of funds.
Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG Dr L Franklin, IAS; Superintending Engineer I & FC Mr. Murtaza Ali and representative from the Dha Bema village were present during the meeting.
