SVEEP awareness program for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls begins in Kargil

KARGIL, OCTOBER 14, 2021: Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP) awareness for Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls in the district started with a sensitization program organized by the District SVEEP Team Kargil at Higher Secondary School (HSS) Panikhar here today.
The program was attended by the Deputy District Election Officer Nargis Banoo who was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion she stressed on active participation of all concerned in the SSR process.
Tehsildar Tai Suru and AERO Sajjad Hussain gave details regarding SSR and urged the participants to disseminate the information to the general population.
The program began with welcome and introductory address by District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Ghulam Rasool Lal.
Core Member SVEEP Anwar Hussain imparted necessary information on ELCs and the importance of ELCs in schools to the students.
The program was attended by young prospective voters, religious and political representatives, staff of HSS, BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs, BLOs, AWWs besides students of HSS Panikhar.
On the occasion, Principal HSS Panikhar Tsewang Dorjay briefed about the importance of elections in a democratic set up.
At the end, Core Member SVEEP Bashir Ahmad delivered the vote of thanks.
Refreshment was also served among the students and participants by the members of the District SVEEP Team.
