The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child at Chuchot Higher Secondary School, Leh.

Leh, 12th October 2024: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child at Chuchot Higher Secondary School, Leh on October 11. This global event aims to raise awareness about the rights and dignity of women, promote women’s empowerment, and recognize their achievements.
To mark this significant occasion, three esteemed guest speakers shared their insights and experiences.
Mr. Aamir Sohail, Social Worker at Special Cell for Women, Leh, delivered a thought-provoking talk on gender issues, equality, equity, and social issues affecting women.
Ms. Jigmet Angmo, an emerging contemporary artist from Ladakh, shared her inspiring journey, highlighting the importance of art in self-expression and empowerment. Her talk emphasized the significance of preserving cultural heritage through art.
Ms. Tsering Angmo, General Secretary of Ladakh Football Association and former international wushu champion, spoke about her remarkable achievements, encouraging girls to pursue their passions and break stereotypes.
The event which was attened by 80 students of the school,aimed to inspire and empower young girls, promoting equality, education, and social change.
