The first meeting of District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) of Leh district for Celebration of International Year Cooperative,2025 was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC, Leh in the VC room today.
The Deputy Registrar Cooperative, Leh Dr Mohd Abass briefed the chairman and other committee members about the nationwide campaign for celebration of International Year of Cooperative,2025 as conveyed by the Ministry of Cooperation ,Govt of India for which various Apex , state and District Level committees have been framed to monitor and guide in formulating State and District Level Action Plans and its smooth implementation. He further informed about the role and responsibilities of District Cooperative Development Committee is to develop a strategic district-level plan for the IYC celebrations including goals, key activities and timelines with an annual activity calendar.
The Chairperson discussed the annual activity calendar and action plan for organizing various activities for celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives in the district and instructed all Committee members and the line departments to extend their support and coordination in smooth conducting of various activities by involving the Cooperative societies . The action plan discussed and approved includes organizing workshops, training and awareness camps for members of cooperative societies in quality production , processing of various agri-horticultural viz apricot ,sea-buckthorn and livestock produce pashmina, milk etc by the various cooperative societies and Federations , campaign for activation of non-functional societies, programs for celebrations of National Cooperative Day and National Cooperative week , cooperative flag hoisting , Tree planation drives, cooperative exhibitions, talk shows, promotion of success stories, distribution of certificates and specials registration drives for forming various types of cooperatives, ERP trainings for computerized PACS and handholding of the FPOs through National Cooperative Development Corporation(NCDC).
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Leh, , Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Leh Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh , Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh District Sheep Husbandry Officer , Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh Assistant Director Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Assistant Director Fisheries, Leh , Senior Manager J & K State Cooperative Bank Leh, representative of FCI, representative of NDDB, Managing Director District Milk Union and Managing Director District Fisheries Union.
